Success Without Burnout:
How to Heal the Hustle Mentality and Take Back Your Life
When Your Dream Business Starts to Feel Like a Cage
You started your business for freedom.
But instead of wide-open space, you find yourself chained to a calendar that looks like pepperoni pizza—calls scattered at all hours, evenings and weekends swallowed, and life squeezed in wherever there’s leftover “cheese.”
You’re exhausted. You’re underpaid. And you’re wondering, “Isn’t this supposed to be better than corporate?”
Here’s the truth: this isn’t about discipline. It’s about wiring. Your nervous system is still stuck in hustle mode. And until you flip that script, your business will keep running your life.
That’s exactly what I’ll show you in my free workshop: Success Without Burnout: Heal the Hustle Mentality (October 7). But first, let me walk you through three shifts you can start today.
Three Shifts to Start Healing the Hustle Mentality
Shift 1: Block Life First (and Stop Apologizing for It)
Most entrepreneurs build their calendar around their clients and try to squeeze life into the cracks.
Flip it. Block your life first.
Dinner with your family.
Walks that clear your head.
Sundays off, no exceptions.
Put them in bold red, mark them “busy,” and protect them as fiercely as you would a client session.
This isn’t selfish. It’s sustainability.
Shift 2: Raise Your Rates (So You Can Breathe Again)
If you’re charging $100 an hour, after taxes and overhead you may be taking home less than you did in corporate.
Try this: write your current rate, then add 20%. Notice what your body does—relief, excitement, or panic.
That panic? It’s not truth, it’s your nervous system resisting change.
One client of mine was charging $75 for services worth $200. She was drained, resentful, and constantly behind. When she raised her rates, yes—her income grew. But the bigger shift? She reclaimed her evenings, stopped working weekends, and started showing up with energy for the clients she loved.
Raising your rates isn’t about greed. It’s about freedom.
Shift 3: Align With Who You Are
If you’ve ever thought, “I must be lazy, because I hate doing this thing every coach says I should be doing,” you’re not lazy. You’re misaligned.
Here’s the test:
Write down two business tasks you love and two you dread.
Double down on what you love.
For what you dread, ask: is it the only way? If not, cut it. If yes, outsource, automate, or simplify.
The more your business matches your strengths and energy, the more sustainable—and profitable—it becomes.
You’re Not Broken, You’re Blocked
Here’s what I wish someone had told me years ago:
You’re not lazy.
You’re not failing.
You’re not broken.
What’s happening is your nervous system is locked in hustle mode, driven by imposter syndrome: the fear of being seen, the panic about raising your rates, the belief you’ll never be enough.
And the longer you push without fixing the wiring, the more you risk: burnout, resentment, even walking away from the dream business you’ve poured your heart into.
What Happens If You Don’t Heal the Hustle Mentality?
Your body pays the price. Exhaustion, stress, and resentment don’t just go away on their own.
Your clients pay the price. Burnt-out coaches can’t give their best.
Your business pays the price. Undercharging and overworking lead straight to stagnation.
But here’s the flip side: when you clear the blocks, everything changes.
Stress drops.
Confidence rises.
You create a true success mindset that carries into every part of life.

Your business should fit your life, not the other way around. And once you feel that shift? Everything gets easier.
-
Let's be honest. Does your business run
your life?
Or do you run your business?
If you've ever promised yourself that
you would slow down, but still found
yourself pushing, overwork, and feeling
guilty when you finally rest, this video
is for you, 100%. Because here's the
thing, it's not a discipline problem.
It's a wiring problem. And today I'm
going to show you how to start flipping
that. When I left corporate, I thought
running my own business meant freedom.
But the thing is is I didn't unlearn the
habits that I had learned in corporate.
My calendar looked like best thing I can
think of was pepperoni pizza. You know
how the pepperonis kind of spread around
and then I was trying to live life in
between where the cheese is. you know, a
Thursday night client, a Saturday
morning call, random little blocks all
over the place because I felt that I had
to be available just like the big
corporate offices are like, you know,
hey, our hours are extended and long
and, you know, coming from health care
247. I knew better than to do midnight,
though. I'll tell you that. But you know
what? Even though I was trying to do
everything between 7 and 9 at night,
Saturday through Sunday or Monday
through Sunday, um I was exhausted. I
was resentful. I was underpaid
because I couldn't even ask for what I
needed.
life had completely slipped away along
with this dream of the freedom that we
set for ourselves when we start our own
practice. There's so much fear that
comes in that we're not going to be
available, affordable,
present that we'll miss out and that can
turn into this hustle mentality.
One day a mentor of mine said something
that just stopped me completely in my
tracks. She was talking about a
conversation she had with another client
and um she said
she was complaining because she wanted
to be able to
build her schedule around ski season.
She was like, "You know, here's the
thing. I love to go skiing, but since
I've started my own business, I can't
ever go skiing."
And my mentor was like, "Well, why not?
Why not have your sessions
before your your time for ski season and
after? Or if you're virtual,
why not have a couple during ski season
from the ski lodge from where you're
going?
There's so many different ways to do
this." And it was a a a mental aha.
It was like, wait, I can do that. I can
design my business around fishing
season. I can design my business around
our Thanksgiving trips. We'd love to do
a Thanksgiving road trip. I began
realizing that I didn't have to set my
rules
for schedule or anything else really by
what corporate says is acceptable.
I could actually design my business
around me, my life, who I am, and what I
need.
So, here's three small shifts that you
can try this week to start building your
business around who you are. Right? The
first thing I want to talk about is
blocking life first on that calendar.
Maybe we don't make the big shifts.
Maybe it's those little things that we
need every single week, every single
day. You know, pick your three top
non-negotiables.
Do you like to go for a daily walk?
Maybe have dinner with a family? Take
Sundays off? Put them on the calendar
before the clients have an opportunity
to schedule. Block them out. Make them
bright red. Make them black. Make them
untouchable.
They are busy. You have an appointment
with your life and it's just as
important
as the appointment with a client.
Next, those times that you are meeting
with clients, I want you to make them
more profitable
almost consistently.
The people that I talk to are
undercharging.
There's so much math involved in it, but
basically if you are charging $100 an
hour, depending on where you are in the
country,
taxes are eating half of that and then
you have your overhead. You have all
these other things coming out. You're
probably making less than you were in
corporate and you're wondering where all
the money is going that's coming in.
Well, it's going to all the overhead.
It's going to the taxes. It's going to
all of these things. So, I want to
challenge you.
Write your price down
and add 20%.
Now, the easy way to do that is if
you're charging $100,
then you double the number and take one
zero off. So, uh if you're charging
$100, you double it. It's 200. Take one
zero off. That's 20. So it would be
adding $20 to the 100. So 120.
What did you feel when you wrote that
number?
Relief, excitement,
panic.
That reaction matters a lot more than
the math.
You
your nervous system is freaking out. And
that's okay. We can we can address that
and we will. But for right now, I want
you to understand what it looks like and
feels like to charge more. Um, in fact,
I need to do another video to tell you
how to set your fee, right? Um, I'll
never forget the client that I met and
that that I say one, but really this is
an average client that's charging, you
know, 50, $75
for services that are worth 200.
They're exhausted. They're broke.
They're working as many hours as they
can squeeze in. They have no life
outside. There's nothing to pour back
into their clients. they can't do the
kind of quality care that they really
want to, but they don't even realize it
sometimes.
Well, this one client I'm thinking of,
the moment that she raised her rates, of
course, her income increased, but then
she was able to say no to those evening
calls. She was able to say no to some of
those weekend reschedules. her
confidence shifted,
her schedule shifted, and she was
starting to build her business around
her life instead of the other way. And
then number three, I want you to to
focus on aligning your business with who
you are.
I used to be horrible about marketing.
Horrible.
I would go and I had this whole list of
shoulds. I'd spent money with this coach
and that coach and and this program over
here and all of them had one thing in
common. The only way to be successful
was to do what they told you to do.
The reality is there's a lot of ways to
be successful and you're not going to be
successful if you're so busy shooting on
yourself that you're not doing the
thing.
So, what I want you to do is I want you
to write down two business tasks that
you absolutely love and two that you
dread.
The ones that you love, circle those.
Try to figure out how we can get more of
that into your practice, into your
business.
The ones you dread,
let's look at those. Number one, are
they the only way to make whatever the
goal of that is happen? You know, if you
hate going on podcasts, do you have to?
If you hate writing ads, do you need to
social media? Fill in the blank. Right?
If it's important and needs to get done,
you need to have a social media
presence. You don't have to do podcasts,
right? So, if you need to have that
thing but you and you dread it, can you
outsource it?
Is it something that you could get a
lowcost help for it? Could you trade?
Could you automate it? How can we reduce
the dread and increase the love
over time?
The more that you build your business to
fit who you are, the more you'll be
energized, the more sustainable, and the
more profitable it's going to become.
Now, I know some of you are saying,
"Well, I've tried that. I've done that.
It didn't work. I can't do that."
Or,
"Yeah, I tried it and I just suck at it.
I'm just so lazy. I procrastinate. I'm
horrible."
I want you to hear me. You're not lazy.
You're not broken. There's nothing wrong
with you. This does not mean you're not
supposed to be an entrepreneur.
What this means is that your brain
is protecting you. For years, I bought
program after program, followed this
formula and that formula, told myself I
just needed more discipline. quit being
so lazy until the day that I finally sat
down and was in tears because I thought
I'm just can't be an entrepreneur.
That was my nervous system. It was
locked in hustle mode. It kept trying to
put me into overdrive with the shoods.
And that's why October 7th, I'm actually
hosting a free workshop called Success
Without Burnout: Heal the Hustle
Mentality. Um, in one hour, I'm going to
walk you through these strategies in
details, guide you through a wonderful
unique reset tool that's going to help
you feel what it's likely what it's like
to finally set that weight down instead
of carrying it. And if you've been
circling that next step, whether it's
raising your rates, shifting your niche,
stepping into visibility, or maybe
launching your program, this workshop is
going to is designed to help you stop
that circling and start moving. So the
link below to register, grab your spot
today because your business should fit
your life,
not the other way around. And you'll

do that, everything is going to get
easier.
