Healing Is the Foundation of Success: Why You’re Still Stuck Despite All the Strategy

Have you ever sat at your desk, looked at your list, thought about all the things you need to do next, and just… couldn’t?

You know exactly what needs to happen to grow your business. You’ve taken the courses. You’ve made the list. You’ve even carved out the time. And yet, you freeze. You procrastinate. You feel sick to your stomach. You think, “What’s wrong with me? I’ll just do it later. I can’t.”

If that sounds familiar, you’re not broken. You’re blocked.

You Don’t Need More Strategy—You Need to Clear the Block

I can’t tell you how many brilliant, big-hearted women I’ve worked with who’ve done everything right—coaches, masterminds, branding, copywriting, marketing courses. They know what to do.

They can guide others effortlessly.

But when it comes to showing up in their own business?

They go blank. They freeze. Or they fawn, overthink, over-perfect, and ultimately hide.

And most of them feel ashamed of it. Because after all the money, time, and energy… shouldn’t they be able to just get it done?

I used to be in that same place.

I spent over $20,000 on business coaching. I had a mile-long list of “shoulds”—and I couldn’t make myself do any of it.

The Real Reason You’re Stuck: Your Nervous System

This isn’t a willpower issue. It’s a nervous system response.

When something new (or even vaguely familiar) reminds your brain of a past threat—even if it wasn’t big-T trauma—your system activates its protection mechanisms.

It could’ve been something small. A comment from a teacher. A look from a parent. An offhand remark that made you feel like your voice didn’t matter or that being seen wasn’t safe.

Your body remembers.

And when that old wound gets touched, your system responds with:

  • Freeze – total shutdown

  • Fawn – shrinking and over-accommodating

  • Perfectionism – trying to do it just right so you don’t get hurt

  • Procrastination – your brain’s gentlest “nope, not safe”

And when those don’t work, you might feel a deeper fear of being seen… because underneath it all is the question, “What if I’m not enough?”

My Personal Landmine

I’ll never forget the moment my dad—who I love and miss dearly—turned around in the car while I was singing my little heart out and said, “We don’t need a concert.”

To him, it was nothing. He didn’t even remember saying it.

To me, it was a landmine.

I carried that for decades. I stopped singing. I stopped showing up. I started thinking that if I couldn’t be perfect, I shouldn’t do it at all.

I worked around it with mindset tools and eventually started singing again, but every time I stretched myself, the wound flared back up.

Until Brainspotting.

What Mindset Work Can’t Reach

Mindset tools like journaling and affirmations feel good… but they don’t always get you moving.

Why? Because they teach you to tiptoe around the landmines.

Brainspotting helps remove them.

I often explain it like this: Imagine sentries are guarding the gate in your brain. When you try to tell yourself, “I’m smart enough. I can do this,” the sentries say, “Hold on—we need to check the files.” They go back and find proof from every experience, every wound, and every failure. Then they come back and say, “Actually, no. You’re not.”

Traditional mindset work trains the sentries to go check new files and while it can work it takes a LONG time to train them.

Brainspotting clears out the old ones, so the only proof left is the truth: you can.

Healing Makes Consistency Natural

Once you clear the block, taking action isn’t a fight anymore.

You don’t have to force it. You don’t have to hype yourself up. You don’t have to journal your way out of it every single day just to do the thing.

Your system stops fighting you. And suddenly, showing up feels doable.

You’re Not Broken. You’re Blocked.

And the blocks? They’re clearable.
