What if procrastination isn't actually the problem?

You've been told it's procrastination. Perfectionism. Analysis paralysis. A lack of discipline. A mindset issue.

Sometimes those labels are accurate. Sometimes they describe what the problem looks like without telling you what is actually causing it.

Jennie Hays, Execution Block Specialist, helps coaches, consultants, and service-based entrepreneurs untangle why strategies they understand still aren't becoming consistent action.

The breakdown may be the strategy itself, the way the work has been structured, an unclear process, or something deeper getting in the way of execution that needs to be addressed.

The label isn't always the explanation.

Jennie brings a practical, contrarian perspective to conversations about procrastination, perfectionism, analysis paralysis, overwhelm, inconsistency, ADHD-related execution challenges, productivity, and business follow-through.

When someone has tried the courses, strategies, systems, accountability, productivity tools, and mindset work and still cannot figure out why follow-through keeps breaking down, Jennie helps root through the mess and identify what is actually happening.

Sometimes the strategy does not fit. Sometimes the process creates unnecessary friction. Sometimes the next action is not nearly as clear as everyone assumes. And sometimes there is something deeper interfering with execution that needs to be addressed.

Jennie uses the term execution block for that last category. Her work is less about assigning another label and more about figuring out which problem is actually present before deciding how to fix it.

Before we decide how to fix the behavior, have we identified what's actually causing it?

Story Angles

Topics Jennie can speak to

Procrastination may be a symptom, not the problem. Delay tells us what is happening. It does not automatically tell us why.
Not every consistency problem requires more discipline. Sometimes the expectation, cadence, channel, or workflow is the part that needs to change.
Analysis paralysis isn't always just overthinking. The decision process itself may be unclear, overloaded, or badly designed.
A diagnosis can matter without explaining every execution problem. ADHD or another known factor can influence how someone works without being the cause of every specific place they get stuck.
Productive procrastination can look responsible. Someone may be working hard while consistently avoiding the action most connected to the result they want.
A proven strategy can still be the wrong strategy. What works in general may not fit the person's audience, goals, business model, strengths, or sustainable way of working.
Perfectionism isn't always the root cause. Sometimes the task is vague, the standard is undefined, or the process creates unnecessary opportunities to keep refining.
More information can make execution worse. Another course, framework, or expert opinion may add options without resolving the actual bottleneck.
Accountability cannot fix every follow-through problem. It can support execution, but it cannot make a mismatched strategy or unresolved barrier disappear.
Sometimes something deeper is getting in the way. When the same action keeps stopping despite effort, insight, and practical adjustments, the interruption itself deserves attention.

Media Introduction

Jennie Hays works with capable entrepreneurs who have already tried the advice, courses, systems, accountability, and mindset work and are still asking, "Why am I not doing what I know I need to do?"

Rather than assuming every stalled action is procrastination or a mindset issue, she helps identify what is actually creating the breakdown.

Full Bio

Jennie Hays is an Execution Block Specialist, Brainspotting Practitioner, and business coach who works with coaches, consultants, and service-based entrepreneurs who understand the strategy but still struggle to turn it into consistent action.

Her work starts with a question that is often skipped: what is actually causing the breakdown?

Procrastination, perfectionism, analysis paralysis, overwhelm, functional freeze, inconsistency, and self-sabotage can describe what someone is experiencing. They do not automatically tell us what needs to change.

Jennie helps untangle whether the problem is the strategy itself, the structure surrounding the work, an unclear or overly complicated process, or something deeper interfering with execution. She uses the term execution block for that last category.

Her approach combines practical business strategy, execution design, Strategy Alignment, Rapid Block Resolution, and Brainspotting. The goal is not endless processing or forcing someone to become better at a strategy that does not fit. It is to identify the actual bottleneck and create a path to measurable follow-through.

Before moving into entrepreneurship, Jennie spent more than two decades as a licensed paramedic, including years in 911 emergency medicine. That background continues to influence her approach: assess what is actually happening before deciding what intervention it needs.
